1. Where Lulu Dispatches From — Local Regional Print Network (Zero Customs Duties in the US, EU, Canada & Australia)
Local Print-Facility Dispatch via Lulu Press, Inc. — Zero Customs Duties in the US, EU, Canada & Australia:
Every Taffrail Press coil-bound logbook is printed to order and dispatched by our global print-on-demand fulfilment partner, Lulu Press, Inc., from the regional print facility closest to your delivery address:
- United States: Printed and dispatched domestically from Lulu's US print facilities — zero customs stops or import duties for US customers and resellers.
- European Union — France: Printed and dispatched inside the EU from Lulu's French print partner — 100% intra-EU delivery with zero customs stops or import duties across Denmark, Sweden, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Croatia, Greece, and all EU member states.
- Canada & Australia: Local domestic print-facility dispatch in Canada and Australia — zero customs stops or import duties for Canadian and Australian orders.
- United Kingdom: Dispatched via Lulu's UK print network where applicable.
On taffrailpress.com, we charge one flat tracked shipping rate of $5.95 per order in the United States, and orders from $65 ship free.
2. Production & Estimated Transit Times
- Print Production Time: 3–5 business days for all Wire-O coil-bound logbooks (plus 1–2 business days for Custom / Personalised cover proof setup).
- Estimated Carrier Transit: 3–7 business days via Standard Trackable Mail, or 2–4 business days via Expedited Courier, depending on destination.
- Transit windows are carrier estimates only and are not guaranteed delivery dates. Neither Taffrail Press nor Lulu is responsible for costs, losses, or delays incurred due to carrier delays, customs holds, or incorrect delivery addresses provided at checkout.
3. Shipper Terms, Incoterms® 2020 & Transfer of Risk
- Because all orders are printed and dispatched by our fulfilment shipper Lulu Press, Inc., shipping and Incoterms follow Lulu's shipper terms (Lulu Membership Agreement and Terms of Use §5 & §6): title and risk of loss for all purchases pass to the buyer upon Lulu's delivery of the shipment to the carrier at the print facility (FCA / CPT print facility, Incoterms® 2020).
- Shipping and freight charges are non-refundable once an order has been dispatched.
4. Customs Duties, Taxes & Import Fees (Cross-Border Shipments Outside Local Print Jurisdictions)
- United States, European Union (France), Canada, Australia & United Kingdom: Because Lulu Press, Inc. prints and dispatches orders locally within the United States (domestic US facilities), inside the European Union from France (100% intra-EU delivery across Denmark, Sweden, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Croatia, Greece, and all EU member states), and domestically in Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom, orders delivered within those regions do not cross a customs border and arrive with zero customs stops or import duties.
- Cross-Border Shipments Outside Print Jurisdictions: Only where an order is shipped across an international customs border outside those local print-plant jurisdictions (for example to Norway, Switzerland, New Zealand, or the Caribbean) do local customs and immigration agencies determine any import duties, local VAT/GST, or carrier clearance fees charged on arrival. In accordance with Lulu's shipper terms, any such cross-border customs duties, import taxes, or brokerage/clearance fees are the sole responsibility of the recipient/buyer.
5. Damaged in Transit or Misprinted Copies
If your book arrives with a printing defect or physical transit damage, please email sales@taffrailpress.com within 30 days of the shipment date (7 days for B2B wholesale orders) with your order number and clear photographs of the damaged book and packaging. In accordance with Lulu's replacement policy and our Terms of Sale, we will send a replacement copy or refund the net purchase price paid for the affected book(s).
