Refund policy

In short

  • You can withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of receiving your book, without giving a reason.
  • Withdraw online on our Cancel your order / Fortryd aftale page, by email or by letter.
  • You pay the postage to return the book to us in Denmark.
  • We refund the price of the book within 14 days. Shipping and freight charges (both original delivery and return postage) are non-refundable.
  • Personalised logbooks can't be returned once printed. Faulty or damaged books are always covered.

This policy applies to all our customers, in Denmark, the rest of the EU and the United States.

1. Your right of withdrawal

You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.

The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day on which you, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you, take physical possession of the goods. If you ordered several books in one order and they arrive separately, the 14 days run from the day you receive the last one.

2. How to withdraw

To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unequivocal statement:

You can do this in any of these ways:

  • Online: use the Cancel your order / Fortryd aftale page. You don't need an account or to log in. Fill in your order number, name, email address and the items concerned, then press Confirm withdrawal / Bekræft fortrydelse. If you use this online function, we will send you an acknowledgement of receipt of your withdrawal by email without undue delay, including its content and the date and time it was submitted.
  • By email to sales@taffrailpress.com, or by letter to the address above.

You may use the standard withdrawal form below, but it is not obligatory.

To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.

We can't be reached by phone; we answer email within 2 business days.

Withdrawing before your book has shipped. If you withdraw before your order ships, we'll try to stop it at our printer. If we can, we refund you in full and you don't need to do anything else. If it is already being printed, it will still be delivered; please return it as described below.

3. Returning the book

Please send the book back to us without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you told us you are withdrawing. The deadline is met if you send the book back before the 14 days have expired.

Please send it to this address only, not to the printer or to the sender address on the parcel. Your book was shipped by our print partner and the sender address may be a print site abroad.

You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the book. We can't provide return labels. We recommend a tracked service and keeping the receipt.

4. Your refund

If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse the price paid for the returned book(s), excluding any shipping or freight charges, without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract. Original shipping/freight charges and return postage are non-refundable (unless the book arrived faulty, damaged, or misprinted; see section 7).

We will carry out the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise. You will not incur any fees as a result of the reimbursement.

We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the book back or you have supplied evidence of having sent it back, whichever is the earliest.

5. Condition of the book

You are only liable for any diminished value of the book resulting from handling other than what is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning. You can look through the book as you would in a shop. If you have written in it, removed pages or damaged it, we may deduct an amount for the loss in value from your refund.

6. Personalised logbooks

Personalised logbooks are made to your specifications, so the right of withdrawal does not apply to them (Danish Consumer Contracts Act, forbrugeraftaleloven § 18, stk. 2, nr. 3; EU Consumer Rights Directive, Article 16(c)). You confirm this with the tickbox in the cart before checkout.

Until you approve your proof (or until we print your text as entered after 5 business days without a reply), you can still cancel a personalised order free of charge by email or on our Cancel your order page.

Faults, damage and mistakes we made are always covered; see section 7 and our Terms of sale, section 8.

7. Faulty, damaged or wrong books

This is not a withdrawal and you don't pay anything. If your book arrives misprinted, damaged or isn't what you ordered, email sales@taffrailpress.com with your order number and a photo. We'll reprint it or refund you. You normally don't need to send it back; if we ask you to, we pay the postage. You have a 2-year right to complain about faults under Danish law (see our Terms of sale, section 9).

8. Late delivery

If your book hasn't arrived 10 business days after the latest delivery estimate, email us with your order number. We'll reprint it or refund you.

9. Exchanges

We can't exchange a book directly. Withdraw from the purchase as described above and place a new order.
